Putnam County Opportunity Zone 2.0 Nominations Submitted

Nominated 4 Key Tracts: Business Park, Barge Port, Downtown Palatka & Crescent City
The nomination window for the federal Opportunity Zone 2.0 program has now closed. The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce has nominated four census tracts that represent key commercial hubs for our area, including the Putnam Business & Aviation Park, the Putnam Barge Port, Downtown Palatka, and Crescent City. Our applications included comprehensive reports on current and planned efforts to expand infrastructure, quality community assets such as the Palatka Airport and Putnam Barge Port, and community development plans that showcase commitment and dedication from local stakeholders.
Selection of these census tracts by the Governor’s Office will further broaden the financial tools available to companies seeking to relocate or expand in Putnam County, bringing greater tax revenues and well-paying jobs along with them. Final approval of the selections will be given by the Federal Secretary of the Treasury and will become active by January 1, 2027.
