Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Roadway Projects – Palatka, FL

FDOT Project #1- Reid Street (U.S. 17/SR 15) Safety Improvements from the Memorial Bridge to State Road 19
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will start a roadway improvement project in mid-May 2026 on Reid Street (U.S. 17/State Road 15), from the Memorial Bridge to Madison Street. FDOT will build a raised median from the Memorial Bridge to Second Street and provide a directional opening for eastbound drivers to access North First Street. FDOT will remove on-street parking between Second Street and Madison Street to make room for future bike lanes. Residents and visitors should expect possible traffic delays, consider alternate routes when possible, and allow extra travel time during construction. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve safety and mobility in the area.

FDOT Project #2- State Road 20 Safety Improvements at Crill Avenue and Morris Street
The Florida Department of Transportation will be implementing safety improvements along State Road 20 at Crill Avenue and Morris Street beginning mid-May 2026. As part of this project, access from both Crill Avenue and Morris Street onto State Road 20 will be permanently eliminated to enhance traffic flow and reduce the risk of crashes in the area. Residents and visitors should review alternate routes before traveling, adjust daily commutes as needed, and allow extra travel time during this transition. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these improvements are made to increase safety for all motorists.
