Welcome Back, Tourism Intern Macey Cook

Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Tourism Team Welcomes Back Macey Cook for Full-Time Internship Through December
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Tourism team is pleased to welcome back Macey Cook this summer as a part-time team member. She will transition into a full-time Tourism Intern from August through December.
Cook is currently a student in the University of Florida’s Department of Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management and is on track to graduate in December 2026.
No stranger to the Chamber, Cook previously served in a part-time role last summer. Reflecting on her experience, she shared, “I gained significant knowledge and industry experience that the classroom just can’t provide.”
During her internship, Cook will work on a variety of impactful projects, including assisting with the Tourism-Related Business Industry Inventory, supporting industry events and workshops, contributing to the development of a hospitality and tourism training program, and helping launch the destination’s new brand and website. She will also assist with itinerary development and other initiatives that enhance the visitor experience in Putnam County.
Her return highlights the Chamber’s continued commitment to developing future industry leaders through internships. “It’s essential for businesses to invest in training the next generation not only in sharing experiential knowledge, but also to gain insights from their fresh perspectives. The creativity and enthusiasm of young professionals is a driving force behind an organization’s growth and innovation,” said Laura Pavlus, President of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce.
