Putnam County, FL Workforce Development Committee Focuses on Building Putnam’s Future

Connecting local employers, educators, and community partners to create career pathways, strengthen the talent pipeline, and support long-term economic growth.
The Chamber's Workforce Development Committee continues to play a vital role in strengthening the connection between education, workforce training, and local employers. Through collaboration with businesses, schools, training providers, and community partners, the committee works to address workforce challenges, promote career pathways, and help ensure that Putnam County has the skilled talent needed to support economic growth.
One of the committee's key initiatives is increasing awareness of local career opportunities and creating stronger partnerships that prepare students and job seekers for in-demand careers. By bringing stakeholders together, the committee helps identify workforce needs and develop solutions that benefit both employers and employees.
Looking ahead, the committee is actively planning the 2nd Annual Putnam County Workforce Development Summit, a premier event dedicated to workforce innovation, talent development, and economic prosperity. The summit will provide an opportunity for business leaders, educators, workforce professionals, and career seekers to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of work in Putnam County. A key focus for this year; helping people understand the wide range of career opportunities available right here in Putnam County. Through experiential learning opportunities such as industry tours, job shadowing, internships, career fairs, and interactions with local employers, students gain firsthand exposure to careers they may not have otherwise considered. These experiences help young community members see that they can build successful and fulfilling careers close to home while meeting the workforce needs of local businesses.
Attendees can expect valuable insights, networking opportunities, and collaborative conversations focused on building a stronger workforce pipeline for our community.
The Chamber encourages community members and partners to participate in this important event as we work together to develop the workforce that will drive Putnam County's continued success for years to come. Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 10th.
